Job description


We are looking for an SIA Licensed Security Officer to join us at our Airbus, Newport site. The role is 56 hours per week working days, nights and weekends on a 7 on, 3 off, 7 on 4 off shift pattern. You will need a valid SIA licence for this position and you will be required to undertake and pass a BS7858 check which includes a credit check, a criminal records check and 5 year work history check.

The security officer will be looking after the site after hours when most people have left the building. You will be a major part of making sure the building is secure for people to return to work the next day. It is also vital in making sure that the company and its belongings are in a secure environment.

The main aspects of this job are to assess danger using patrols and the CCTV to maintain the correct thing to do. If there is any doubt then you would be in contact with the Building Manager. You will also be in contact with out of hour contractors and you will have to keep a close eye on the security communications log to see what is going on. The job will also include other types of things around the building to make sure the building is ready for the morning. You must also contact a security site every hour so they know things are okay.

You may be required to man the gatehouse, control room, or general duties and any reasonable request activity identified by management.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

·  You will have to have previous experience and be able to work on your own. You must have a revenant SIA licence in order to take on this job.
·  A driving license is an advantage to travel to, and from site as public transport in the area is scarce.
·  Ideally, we would like you to have experience of working on a larger site and a first-aid license but training will be provided if not.
·  As part of our employment vetting you must be able to provide a 5 years verifiable employment history or school history (in accordance with BS7858).
