Global Energy Management  (GEM) is one of ENGIE’s 24 Business Units. At the heart of the energy value chain, GEM optimizes the Group’s assets portfolio including electricity, natural gas, environmental products and bulk commodities such as biomass, while developing its external commercial franchise worldwide. We provide services in supply and logistics management, asset management by leveraging on markets, risk management, market access management, and contribute to market understanding, design and efficiency. 
With a staff of 1,400, offices in 11 countries and 4 trading platforms, GEM has an extended geographical coverage in Europe and Asia-Pacific and activities in more than 50 countries. 

The economic research team is a five people team which works on the Trading floor of GEM/EGM. Its main missions are to develop its own insights and bring support to the trading floor about markets (internal), to deliver ad-hoc fundamental, statistical and technical analyses and provide market analysis reports and services to a defined set of clients (external). 

Main activities are 

·  market data collection, organization and dissemination, forecasted prices and fundamentals (in the fields of macroeconomics, oil, gas, coal, electricity and CO2)Market intelligence and analysis 
·  market modeling (fundamental, statistical and technical) 
·  reporting and communication 
·  support and propose trading/hedging strategies 
The economic research team is seeking  a trainee for a period of 6 months  (immediate start).

Your mission 

·  you will perform IT audit of existing tools 
·  based on this audit, you will provide a technical proposal on how to improve the Eco-Research system (working files, mailing list use and management, emailing, content capture, publication storage) 
·  you will optimize and automate communication tools 
·  you will suggest for targeted IT architecture within the frame of the ENGIE ongoing digitalization project: in line with the “Global Energy” new platform and with the release of an “Eco-Research website” in 2017
·  you will start and do the follow-up of the IT developments 
·  you will optimize and revamp of our forecasting economic models for oil, gas, coal and power prices (if possible)

·  you are a student in an engineering school, IT option or generalist 
·  you speak fluently French and English
