Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Full Stack Developer Node.js to be based within ENGIE Smart Buildings. This is a permanent, full time role, working 37.5 hours a week. On offer is a salary of £30,750 to £45,000 per annum plus company benefits package.

We're currently looking for talented software and hardware developers to help make our vision a reality. If you're an experienced Node.js developer and you're looking for a role that's a little bit different to the rest, then we want to hear from you.

Like experimenting with home automation tools? Ever modified your robot vacuum? Made your own Alexa skills to control your house? In that case we REALLY want to hear from you. None of that's essential, but a passion for connecting software with hardware would really give you the edge. Very few developer roles will give you the chance to work with this kind of tech.

We like to do things properly here: our clients' buildings depend on it. That means testing, and lots of it - using both automated unit tests and integration tests, as well as plenty of manual testing. We believe in using the right tools for the job, so for many of our solutions we’ve taken a cloud native approach on AWS. And we think our clients should get their hands on our latest code as soon as possible, so we work as an Agile team and deploy code frequently to production using our automated build pipeline.

Your Day to Day:

·  Development of new features for the z3ro platform
·  Consultation with stakeholders
·  Architecture design
·  Technical implementation
·  Ongoing support & maintenance of the z3ro platform
·  Assisting Commissioning Engineers with the use of the z3ro platform
·  Troubleshooting and bug fixing

About you:

·  At least 1 year experience developing with Node.js
·  At least 1 year experience developing with React.js
·  Experience using Typescript
·  Familiarity with Git
·  Strong understanding of ES6 JavaScript
·  Knowledge of writing unit/integrations tests

What would be an advantage:

·  Experience developing CI/CD pipelines
·  Experience running Cloud Native workloads in AWS (or other cloud provider)
·  React.js (or similar modern frontend framework)
·  Experience configuring containerized environments with Docker.
·  Experience with Machine Learning
