Job description



The Project/Business Development Intern will support the Distributed Renewables team in various development activities. The individual will focus on early stage development support, with activities such as site selection analysis, proposal writing and review and data collection and assist in activities to complete site control, permitting and other development tasks. The individual will also support acquisition and diligence efforts of distributed projects and work with a cross functional team to support furthering the development of distributed solar and solar + storage assets.

The internship work term will be from November 2020 ­– May 2021, part-time work schedule working 20 hours per week.

What you'll do:
·  Assists in the development of viable new and existing solar projects
·  Prospects for new development sites using GIS
·  Creates and disseminates prospecting analyses of municipal and cooperative utilities to identify markets for development opportunities
·  Support acquisition due diligence
·  Assists in the development of viable new and existing solar projects
·  Assists in the review of requests for proposals and corresponding written responses
·  Conduct market research and analysis

What you bring:

·  Must be at least a junior or senior (by end of spring semester) working toward a bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Energy or Economics or a closely related degree, or Master's/MBA student
·  Must possess a 2.8 GPA or higher
·  Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future sponsorship for employment visa status
·  Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
·  Analytical, self-motivated and able to perform effectively individually as well as with a team
·  Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
·  Excellent problem-solving ability and able to perform in a dynamic and high paced environment
