ENGIE are recruiting for a Apprentice Security Operative to be based in Grimsby North East Lincolnshire DN32 0LL. This is a full time, 24 months apprenticeship role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview  

ENGIE have identified a great opportunity to recruit a security apprentice to their security team, which is an integral part of the Facilities Management team.  ENGIE are looking to employ a confident and motivated apprentice to work at the North East Lincolnshire Contract who is looking for career and personal development opportunities.  The successful candidate will be part of a team of security professionals who deliver a number of security solutions to their clients in North East Lincolnshire.

There are around 500,000 people employed in the security industry. This number includes static and patrol guards, uniformed retail security guards, store detectives, CCTV operators, dog handlers and private investigators.  Individuals will need a calm head to assess different situations and the confidence to act when necessary. You’ll also learn the importance of keeping accurate records and handling documents.

Activities could include:

Attendance and successful completion of an intermediate level apprenticeship

Impact

Successful completion of Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence for CCTV and static and patrol guarding.

Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry

Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry

In order to do this, these apprenticeships include: 

· 
A qualification that assesses competence in work situations 

· 
A knowledge qualification that demonstrates an appropriate level of understanding about the area of work 

· 
In some cases a combined qualification, which tests both competence and knowledge 

· 
Functional Skills – which ensure that appropriate standards in English and maths are met 

· 
Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) – awareness of the rights and responsibilities that are essential in the workplace 

· 
Development of Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) – which are essential in all workplaces, including for effective participators, self-managers, independent enquirers, creative thinkers, reflective learners and team workers.

This provides the pathway to BIFM Level 3 in Facilities Management.

Complexity:  

The apprenticeship provides a foundation for individuals to develop skills and behaviours in a Security and FM working environment which provides a pathway to development to Level 3 in Facilities Management qualification.

The role will requires the individual to work with a number of different teams in the Facilities Management (which includes security) working environment on a six month rotation programme. 

This will include:

· 
Induction to the FM service (Four week period rotating round different teams (Service desk, FM services, Security patrols & CCTV control room)

· 
Induction to SIA Level 2 course work in CCTV and Guarding

· 
Agree rotation programme to each security and FM service area based on 6 months per service 

· 
Regular progress review (minimal 6 monthly)  

Attendance to a SIA CCTV and guarding apprenticeship qualification courses will be required which will involve travel to the course and participating in group and individual training.  The completion of individual and group course work (to be agreed in the course syllabus).  Time will be provided to complete the course work but there will be an expectation for some activities to be completed outside of the working day.

Qualifications or Required Experience:   

·  Experience in security, Facilities Management or customer care would be beneficial but not essential.
·  Committed to achieving a SIA licences
·  An industrious and motivated with a desire to learn attitude
·  Punctuality with the means to attend the workplace
·  Good ICT skills with an understanding of Excel, Word and social media 
·  Able to interact with others 
·  Ability to work alone using own initiative

As part of our employment vetting you must be able to provide a 5 years verifiable employment history or school history (in accordance with BS7858) for this role.
