ENGIE are recruiting for an Apprentice Electrical Engineer to be based at 25 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5L. This is a 4-year full-time apprenticeship role, working 40 hours per week, 8 am - 5 pm. On offer is a salary in line with the National Minimum Wage, relevant to the age of the successful person.

General Overview:

To complete a programme of training within Engie, also inclusive of Attendance at local college on a day release and evening class basis, (college to be confirmed, dependent on successful candidate's location),  leading to a recognised NVQ qualification over a 4-year period

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

·  To become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of tools including, but not restricted to measurement meters, thermostatic and infra-red.
·  Fitting and assembly skills including the use of hand tools and marking out.
·  Measurement and inspection techniques using a variety of meters equipment.
·  Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the Service Operations Manager / Service Supervisor that are calculated to contribute to the requisite levels of performance and competence.
·  To progress to basic electrical testing.
·  In addition, there will be training within Engie on mechanical, refrigeration and gas safe works to provide you with a broad scope of knowledge
·  In agreement with the Service Operations Managers / Service Supervisors, the job holder will be required to attend and complete various training courses. This will involve attendance at local educational establishments, on a “day release”, and evening class basis as appropriate.

Qualifications

·  A minimum of 4 GCSE’s, or equivalent, at Grade A* to C including English, Maths and a science related subject Experience/Knowledge:

·  No prerequisite experience required but a demonstrable interest in electrical engineering through school or hobby interests Skills:

·  Demonstrable interest in an engineering discipline.
·  To be I.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft “Word”, “Excel” or equivalent software.
·  Ability to work efficiently and accurately
·  Highly motivated
·  Aptitude for practical science or engineering skills
·  The ability to work as a team member and possess good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills.
·  To work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines.
·  To be able to prioritise workload and work under own initiative.
·  High level of flexibility and dependability.
·  Full Clean UK Driving Licence (Desirable, but not Essential)
