Nowadays, digitization is becoming the trend of industry development and innovation. By assembling as many elements as possible, it can improve the efficiency and greatly decrease the R&D, design and manufacturing cost. Among them, numerical simulation helps to improve design and R&D efficient by introducing the concept of numerical experiment. Furthermore, digital twin becomes an industrial must for managing assets lifetime cycle with powerful simulation prediction based on real-time data. EDF R&D has been developing its own open-source simulation tools for more than 30 years, and is willing to further integrate those tools (Code_Aster, Code_Saturne, Salome, Telemac…) into a Cloud SaaS platform, or develop digital twin for its major assets with the use of data analytics for optimization.
During the mission, you will get both to work on FEA mechanical & Fluid simulation and you will also get to interact with the members of a Chinese local company to help them to fulfill all the necessary integration work required to create an outstanding success for this new EDF simulation platform in China.
Your main activities in the digital for generation team (D4G) will be:
- Coordination between EDF R&D China and EDF France to propose/identify a digital platform activity outline in link with local Chinese partners.
- Perform numerical simulation activities inside EDF R&D China Center.
- Develop data analytics applications for optimization.
- Contribute to the construction of cloud-based simulation platform with EDF in-house software with local Chinese partners.
We expect you to have the following set of skill and experience:
- Knowledge and experience in numerical simulation tools and Finite Element Simulation (Thermal-hydraulic, Mechanics) is necessary. Knowledge on numerical schemes and algorithms in a computer language (C, C++, Python…).
- Experience with data analytics and related applications.
- Experience in web design and development, it would be a big plus (Server, Database, How to code a website, Utilisability, etc…)
- English and French language skills are essential. If you can also speak Chinese, that would be a plus.
- You need also to be very open-minded and willing to work in a multi-cultural ambience.
- Due to requirement for the Chinese visa application procedure, 2 years of work experience and citizenship from a country of the European Union are required.
