Job description

Context

We are looking for an engineer or doctor with education and experience in fields related to coastal engineering and management, to be based in Guyancourt (Yvelines, France), at Egis Ports, our center of excellence in port and coastal development.
As part of a multidisciplinary team working on various French and international projects, you will mainly contribute to the diagnostic and (pre)feasibility studies for coastal and estuarine development projects.

Job description

Depending on the projects, you will contribute to the understanding of the physical processes that govern the functioning of coastal and estuarine systems, and to the design of coastal risk management and development solutions.
As a technical contributor, you will apply state-of-the-art methods for data processing and analysis, and numerical modelling tools for the description of coastal and estuarine dynamics. As a project manager, you will be in charge of the technical, contractual and financial aspects of the projects.

Main responsibilities

  • Support the commercial actions, and lead technical proposal writing;
  • Carry out specific coastal engineering and management studies;
  • Lead the project teams for the execution of services;
  • Write reports and lead working meetings with the different contributors of a project, including client and other stakeholders.

Desired profile

Required profile

Engineer or doctor with specialization in coastal engineering and management or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of experience in coastal engineering and management.

You work in an international context. You should have a high control of English, ideally through an international experience.

You are familiar with the concepts and tools for coastal risk management and for adaptation to climate change, including the identification and implementation of Nature-based Solutions.
You are familiar with numerical modeling tools (wave propagation, agitation, storm impact, hydrodynamics, morphodynamics -event-based, medium-term and long-term, coastline evolution) as well as with the conceptual and structural design of coastal measures (sand nourishments, renaturation, dikes, jetties, groynes, etc.).

Good knowledge of international procurement procedures followed by multi-lateral donors and bi-lateral agencies, and experience with office software required for the production and presentation of project documents.

Excellent oral and written skills in French and English. Travelling in France and abroad is expected.
