Background

TheComplementary Applications and Standalone Systems (CASS) Team is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of over 20 applications and c.140 user ‘tools of the trade’, and the development and delivery of changes and new applications in support of Account and Corporate goals. The applications, which provide functionality not delivered by the account’s principal application, JPA, are written in a diverse range of technologies, necessitating a wide breadth of technical skills within the team. These include VBA Access, VBA Excel, C#/VB.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, Java, Javascript, Dynamics CRM, Windows Mobile, Android.  Third party software that is supported includes Crystal Reports, OpenText Documentum, Open Text Captiva Capture, MicroFocus SBMComposer/SBM/Dimensions,Telerik Reporting, HTML, PL/SQL

What you'll be involved with:

You will join a team of 7 and perform operational support and maintenance for existing systems and products, such as diagnosing and resolving problems with users and technical services support staff.  You will also support Change Projects involving upgrades and new systems implementations, performing the various activities associated with the development, enhancement, analysis of application development/system development projects according to the specifications of the client.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Analyses and manages resolution of Incidents and one-off data fixes and resolves technical issues as efficiently as possible to limit financial penalties relating to Measures of Performance (MoPs)
·  Makes the required software changes or data fixes and ensures they are robustly documented and tested in accordance with CASS and Account processes
·  Serves as representative in support of applications in area of responsibility
·  Undertakes daily checks, where assigned, to identify and help resolve live problems and, where relevant, provides data and analysis of daily metrics
·  Undertakes analysis, produces recommendedsolutions/documentationfor new requirements and producesdetailed estimates for CASS change
·  Provides remote support and occasional on-site visits
·  When more fully engaged in a Change Programme, functions as an active member of the change development team in all phases of change projects including supporting the business/systems requirements process, coding, testing, test plan preparation, testing validation, program debugging, defect remediation, implementation, and coordination of program releases
·  Creates solutions that enhance productivity and effectiveness of systems
·  Ensure quality, coding, and installation standards are followed in area of responsibility
·  Executes unit tests and documents outcomes
·  Escalation of CASS Risks and Issues to BAU Team Lead
·  Adherence to Account Security Process
·  Works closely and effectively with peer groupand other support teams, liaises with Project Technical Leads, Project Managers, Authority focal points and Third Party Suppliers
·  Performs all assigned activities within expected quality, cost, and schedule parameters
·  Provides technical guidance and coaching to  junior staff

Essential Skills:

·  Direct experience in VBA Excel, VBA Word and Microsoft Access
·  Able to Works to project milestones and deliverables
·  Maintains composure with customers in critical situations
·  Understands the project technical lifecycle model
·  Strong written communications, and ability to write technical reports, design documents and project processes
·  Strong verbal communications and ability to confidently and coherently talk at all levels; engineers through to customers

Desirable

·  Knowledge of C#/VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL
