Packaging Project Engineer

(location: Zoetermeer – fulltime)

About the Job

This role is part of our Specialized Nutrition factory located in Zoetermeer and reports directly to the Deployment Team Lead. In this factory (with over 500 Danoners) we produce specialized liquid medical nutrition contributing to the well-being of vulnerable target groups (infants, elderly and sick) in over 55 countries.

Your main responsibilities

The Packaging Project Engineer takes ownership of the packaging equipment & line installation projects from concept phase through commissioning independently and develop technical know-how. As Packaging Project Engineer you will take part in large projects in which you make sure that the Danone Nutricia’s standards are achieved, developed and implemented. The Packaging Project Engineer will report to the Senior Project Engineer Packaging.

From this pivotal position within Nutricia’s Zoetermeer Supply Point you will be responsible for:

·  Lead multidisciplinary project teams during preliminary definition, detailed definition, execution, start-up and commissioning of projects;
·  Assure the right needs description and project definition and transform these into technical proposals;
·  Propose technological developments and innovations to increase industrial efficiency and quality of products and packaging;
·  Write (Reviews) Request For Quotations, assess supplier proposals and make recommendations for enhancements and investments;
·  Participate in requisition and management of capital authorization requests and be responsible for project spending;
·  Be responsible for project quality, time to market & cost control and ensure technological watch of the market in competence field;
·  Support the development of the global technology suppliers together with Purchasing for investments (Capex).

About You

We are looking for someone with a BSc degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Food Engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in packaging/ engineering environment preferably working in, or closely with, food, pharma or medical. You have experience with packaging and project management. Moreover, you have demonstrated potential to collaborate with experts across diverse disciplines.

In addition, you fit this role perfectly because you are/have:

·  Experience in leading cross-functional teams in a challenging and changing environment;
·  Experience in (Technical) Project Management, Manufacturing, Supplier Development;
·  Technical knowledge of packaging lines and equipment;
·  Experienced in setting up contractual documentation (Technical specifications, Schedule, Equipment performance, Commissioning protocol);
·  Installation & commissioning experience of (Aseptic) Liquid filling and packaging lines;
·  Be pragmatic, pro-active, an out of the box thinker with a focus on customer orientation and a getting things done attitude;
·  Fluency in English and Dutch (speaking and writing).
