Danone North America is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic Level 1 in San Juan Bautista.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Must have working knowledge of basic protective equipment requirements, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, OSHA, FDA, and GMP as they apply to maintenance personnel.
·  Demonstrated technical aptitude in the following areas:
·  Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic, control systems.
·  Weld stainless steel. Weld quality to be acceptable for food grade applications.
·  Install and setup equipment (variable frequency drives, magnetic flow meters and sensors etc.) using vendor's manuals and specifications.
·  Read piping diagrams and blueprints to identify the function of various components for air and water distribution systems.
·  Operate and repair, ammonia system components, ammonia system electrical controls and computerized refrigeration monitoring/control program.

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

·  2-3 years of related experience operating and/or maintaining case erector equipment.
·  High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·  Must be able to run electrical conduit and be knowledgeable of code requirements.
·  Knowledge of the following areas/systems required:
·  Liquid pumps and pump principles with the ability to rebuild troubleshoot and read pump flow curves.
·  Must understand fundamentals and be capable of rebuilding and troubleshooting mechanical drive and centrifugal pump, i.e. chain drive sprockets, gearbox ratios and pump seals etc.
·  Nitrogen Generation and bulk Nitrogen systems.
·  Sodium Hypochlorite (Chlorine) and PH buffer (Citric Acid) Injection systems.
·  Compressed Air System.
·  Electrical Distribution System.
·  Must thoroughly understand and be able to maintain all of the spin dryers.
Must have a working knowledge of PLC's. This means understanding components of a PLC system and ability to upload and download programs at a minimum.
·  Bilingual/Bi-literateEnglish and Spanish required. Must be able to speak, read and write in English.

·  Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.

·  Technical Aptitude - Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
·  Training - Ability to develop a particular skill in others to bring them up to a predetermined standard of work performance.
·  Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
·  Active Listening - Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
·  Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
·  Required to relocate to Yuma, AZ during winter growing season, typically November thru April.
·  Must be flexible with schedule and have the ability to work PM, weekend and overtime as required.
·  Must be able to qualify for forklift & scissor lift driver's license.
·  Ability to perform other functions such as standing, walking, sitting, twisting and carrying objects up to 50lbs .
·  Ability to work in cold and wet conditions with the smell of chlorine (inside plant 34 degrees)
