Danone North America is looking for a [[Machine Operator]] in [[Springfield, Oregon]] manufacturing facility

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Machine Operator 3 at Plant 3 rotates through three workstations every two hours. The position includes manual labor, repetitive throwing of 50lb bags, the operation of several machines, runs forklift, moves pallets, labels items for shipment, documents work processes, recycles and cleans equipment in place.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Being punctual, as you will be working with a small crew and your attendance is crucial for production.

• Keep up with fast paced production while frequently emptying 50lbs bags of product.

• Runs forklift, moves pallets, wraps pallets using a pallet wrapper, moves inventory and takes out recycling on a regular basis. Also uses hand tools and prepares items for shipment.

• Responsible for CIP (Clean in Place) and COP (Clean Out of Place) by washing and sanitizing the entire production area one day per week or as needed. Breaks down specific equipment for COP wash/sanitizing.

• Adheres to all policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices and safety procedures. Takes samples and accurately completes required documentation.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required; and one year of heavy production experience.
• Desirable: food industry experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Requires the ability to read and interpret documents, follow SOPs, basic math skills, a mechanical aptitude, attention to the detail and the ability to communicate professionally.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• This is primarily a production floor and warehouse classification.
• Employees must be able to work on the production floor with high noise levels. Employees must also be able to stand for a full work shift on concrete flooring for 2-3 hours at a time, walk on wet surfaces, and lift 50 lbs on a frequent basis in 2 hour increments.
• Employees must be able to work in the warehouse in cool and very warm temperatures.
• Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a machine keypad, computer keyboard, or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls.
• Must wear personal protective equipment; ear plugs or muffs, safety glasses, goggles, face shield, chemical apron, gloves.

MENTAL DEMANDS :
• Must be able to focus on performing the tasks safely and accurately.
