Food and Water Cycles (F&WC) is one of the three key ambitions within Danone 2020.  F&WC purpose is to sustainably manage our strategic resources into practice.  Milk, Water and Plastic are at the heart of our business, we need to protect and enhance these resources in collaboration with our local communities.  We will do this through co-building the circular economy around our essential resources, leveraging alliances and technologies and nourishing meaningful brands for our consumers. The cycle starts with the management of water resources, agricultural raw materials, and packaging. The cycle also includes the collection of used products, recycling of waste and the preservation of our water cycle. Managing cycles effectively and responsibly involves implementing end-to-end production processes that produce the least amount of waste possible – a concept also referred to as ‘the circular economy’. 

Resources Efficiency (RE)) is the newly created cross-division organization that consists of the sourcing capabilities and dedicated transversal teams that will deliver the Food & Water Cycle ambitions, securing our license to operate and strengthening our competitive advantage. This new organization includes three cycles:  Milk, Plastics and Waters, and two streams to manage our Strategic resources across business units and across the full cycle:  Services and Goods and One Direct Sourcing.  Joining this team places you at the heart of the Danone 2020 transformation, where you can make a personal impact on the future.

We are now looking for a:

Intern in Global Upstream Plastics category for Cup solutions

Schiphol - 6 months - July start

Your mission

Combine your Master’s degree with a real experience in an international trading company. Support the global manager of Upstream Plastics in his role to source the Danone needs of PS, PE, PP, PLA and masterbatches directly on the upstream markets. You will work on some specific projects to increase market knowledge and to identify and implement new sourcing opportunities, as well as support the already existing business with operational excellence.

As a global upstream junior buyer you would be responsible for:

1) Build market knowledge and identify new sourcing opportunities: (1/3th of your time)

·  Collect and consolidate market information on plastic resins
·  Perform analyses to identify and assess trading opportunities
·  Build and Implement the sourcing strategy on upstream category

2) Support implementation of new sourcing projects (1/3th of your time)

·  Design and implement sourcing flows
·  Connect and support vendors and clients for an effective project delivery

3) Support existing Upstream Plastics activities with operational excellence: (1/3th of your time)

·  Price management
·  Masterdata management
·  Reporting
·  Operational management of relationships with clients and vendors

We are looking for a global upstream junior buyer with the following profile:

Experience & Technical Knowledge:

·  In process of obtaining Master’s degree in purchasing, management or applied economics
·  Already 1 experience in purchasing department
·  Strong Excel Skills
·  Knows Powerpoint and Word

·  Analytical, Structured and Networker
·  Drive and enthusiasm
·  Understand links and consequences
·  Speaks English fluently, other languages are a plus
