Job description

General Council IT is a global organization within Corporate Services Technology that delivers legal and compliance IT solutions across the Bank. GC IT brings cross divisional expertise and regional best practices to a global delivery models. As an Oracle Database Developer you will work in a team delivering globally solutions based on the Actimize Trade Surveillance platform.

As an Oracle Database Developer your main responsibilities will involve:

· Developing and implementing new features and change requests in Oracle databases
· Monitoring database performance and tuning SQL queries as well as identifying and resolving scalability issues
· Writing PL/SQL code to implement business logic by developing and amending stored procedures
· Participation in the data ingestion design and implementation
· He/she will also provide subject matter expertise and 3rd level support to ensure the smooth running of systems and quick recovery from outages/downtime
· Ensure timely delivery of requirements in line with project milestones
· Report regular progress to the Project Manager

Desired profile

As an Oracle Database Developer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

·  Proven track record in data modelling, delivering Oracle based solutions - SQL queries, PL/SQL code
·  Expertise in ETL processes design and implementation, data lifecycle management
·  Very solid written and oral communication skills
·  Ability to work at a fast pace in a team and adapt style to ensure the project is successful
·  A self-starter who can proactively engage with peers and clients to ensure timely completion of deliverables

Desirable:

·  Professional background of working on large projects / large and complex systems
·  Working experience with: Jira, SVN, Enterprise architect
·  Hands on experience in using Unix/Linux operating systems and practice in bash/perl scripting
·  Understanding of financial markets
·  Some formal training and/or certifications in developing/architecting solutions on Oracle platform
·  Know-how of UML methodology
