NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT (NPD) SUPPORT BUYER ASIA PACIFIC M/F

Job description

This role offers the opportunity to develop professional operational sourcing of new and existing project developments at division level in a context of one of the biggest merge in our industry.
This is a critical role for successful integration of new businesses, brands and plants through enabling and ensuring business continuity according to new product development requirements and global procurement operations processes. Direct impact on company bottom-line through compliant sourcing execution and support in company growth through flawless sourcing support of New Product Development.
This role is new. Key factor of successes are:
- Timely and accurate support delivery to NPD Third Party Manufacturer buying in Asia
- Build of the NPD Support buying processes in a sustainable way cross-division
- On-boarding of the outsourcing provider as part of the procurement strategy
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULT AREAS
- Provide accurate and timely inputs to NDP buyers (RFP Set up, RFP Analysis, Cost Modelling and estimates, etc)
- Supports NPD Buyers specifications optimization / cost alternatives while fitting to business functional requirements
- Drives tender process to get best value at first time and optimal time-to-market for identified projects (Class 3 and C)
- Ensures a sustainable and competitive sourcing solution for NPD pipeline for class C & 3 products
- Prepare support materials when required to NPD Buyers in challenging Marketing and PCD on Design-to-Cost / Value engineering principles
- Understand and Achieve optimum cost while ensuring high level of quality/service and the respect of delivery targets
- Negotiation of commercial terms incl. payment terms for identified projects
- Timely GPO reporting on key activities
- 100% compliance to NPD as well as sourcing and procurement processes and policies
- Leverage available tools to achieve efficient and effective sourcing (Ariba Upstream, SAP, Excel)
- Ensure all system required information provided to relevant Master Data and contract teams – complete, without mistakes, on time
- Share best practices amongst NDP divisional support buyers
- Develop NDP divisional support buying on boarding guidelines
- When GPO is up-and-running, develop robust knowledge transfer on what is transferrable in a project mode
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Key Challenges:
- Adequate interactions with the NPD buyers and GPO to seek for appropriate & timely support
- On time in full delivery of new initiatives assigned by divisional NDP buyers
- Standardization of the process across divisions
Profile and education:
- University graduate, ideally in Business or Engineering (with a Major in Purchasing)
- Experience in using various office tools (Excel, MS Office, SAP, Ariba, etc.)
- First Proven experience in working in a matrix challenging environment.
- High degree of fluency of English is required. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
