Software Engineer – Web Application

Software Engineer – Web Application will:

·  Proactively contributes in full stack development of the digital services, from front-end user interface to back-end development including server coding, SQL, data modelling, test driven development and general database knowledge
·  Works as an integral part of the development team to ensure product success
·  Works in pairs to ensure high quality software and transfer of knowledge
·  Maintains and further develops DSI's test driven environment to ensure high quality, reliable and maintainable code
·  Works as a collaborative team member with designers, product managers, and fellow developers
·  Applies and continuously develops DSI's Extreme Programming and agile approach
·  Contributes to DSI's innovative culture to develop new solutions and adapt to latest technology
·  Updates own knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment
·  Participates in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations when possible
·  Contributes to department product design tools and methodologies
·  Assures quality of work by self-check and review
·  Develop quality scalable and reliable applications using industry best practices
·  Provide hands on technical leadership and participate in architectural decision making

Basic Qualification:

·  BSc in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
·  Desire to be proficient in working on the full-stack from front-end all the way to the deployment and scaling
·  Experience on developing at least one high-scale web application along with well-designed APIs.
·  Knowledge of back-end development including server (back-end) coding, SQL, data modelling, test driven development, and general database knowledge
·  Proficient in the following languages and frameworks: Cloud Foundry, Docker, Postgresql, Java, Spring, Javascript, React, HTML, CSS3, SASS, Gradle and Webpack
·  Knowledgeable in service oriented development (micro services), system modelling, and API design
·  Knowledgeable of developing software in an extreme programming environment
·  Awareness of design methodologies and user-centered collaborative development
·  Capable of structuring information and effectively communicating insights
·  Capable of being a change advocate. Identifying areas of opportunity and proactively promoting improved solutions.
