Manufacturing Engineer

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Support technology transfer and scale-up of personal care manufacturing formulas and products
·  Organize and oversee Pilot & Line Trial production to ensure smooth transition from lab batch to full-scale manufacturing
·  Evaluate products from lab, pilot and line trial to ensure they meet the aesthetics of the formula (color, odor, appearance, feel) and packaging (fit, form, function) standard
·  Maintain thorough project knowledge and information exchange throughout the development process; Track projects and timelines
·  Attend and provide input to regular project status meetings
·  Provide technical input into new supplier selection
·  Initiate research and implement continuous improvement projects to reduce costs, lead times, and quality issues
·  Serve as a resource to suppliers for technical troubleshooting and process improvements

QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Minimum of 2 years of experience in the personal care or related industry, including scale-up and production in a manufacturing plant.
·  Knowledge of product formula and packaging attributes.
·  Strong relationship building skills
·  Strong ability to communicate clearly/concisely through oral and written methods with technical and non-technical partners
·  Strong problem-solving capability and the ability to work through data and related technical information to generate conclusions and develop action plans
·  Strong knowledge of liquid compounding and filling processes/equipment
·  Basic knowledge of raw materials and their purpose in formulations and their impact to process efficiencies and stability.
·  Basic knowledge of packaging components and their impact to production and filling efficiencies.
·  Knowledge of basic Microsoft PC programs and functionality
·  Ability to travel 5% of the time within China
·  Strong Mandarin and basic English written & verbal communication skills

 

EDUCATION:  B.S or above in Engineering; Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Packaging
