Test Engineer – Jr.

Position Description

CGI Federal is seeking a Federal Test Engineer - Jr. This person will primarily be based in our office in Fairfax, VA but you must be open to traveling to client sites in Washington, DC as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large, high-profile cybersecurity program supporting 7 federal agencies. This person will shape the overall testing approach for the project.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Support the development of the master test plan and project schedule, including all details related to automated versus manual testing.
- Support the development of test cases/scripts, test case automation, test execution and validation of results.
- Support the development and execution of the problem reporting process.
- Support test and technical teams involved in developing requirements and software design artifacts to ensure familiarity with the requirements and expected functionality of the system.
- Support the delivery of system test plans and update as required.
- Support the delivery of client expectations and involvement in the various testing activities.
- Support the development of reports on project progress, risks and issues.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 0-2 years of experience
- General knowledge of quality assurance and/or testing
- Knowledge of automated test suites
- Effective communication and writing skills to communicate to customers and internal team members
- Organizational skills to work with the vast array of information
- Ability to maintain own workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to travel to various sites across the DC metro area

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Cybersecurity and/or testing experience
- Knowledge of testing requirements, including 508 and IV&V
- Knowledge of SDLC, IT systems and processes, testing methodologies
- Understanding of the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program (CDM)
