System Architect (Design Authority)

Position Description
Are you excited to contibute to the Galileo program? Do you have a special interest in highly complex systems?

Your day to day activities
As System Architect you are responsible for (part of) the design of the project. You communicate and interact with multiple international development - and test teams as well with the other Design Authorities on the project. You are expected to act as the projects representative for technical discussions with the client. Your responsibilities will include:
• Performing and analyzing Risk and Cost analysis;
• Create and validate designs for maintenance /evolution purposes;
• Validate requirements compliancy;
• Leading and supporting design decision meetings;
• Validate changes against the current design;
• Perform regression analysis.

Things you need to be successful
You have a special interest in highly complex systems and security. You have experience in working in a heterogeneous technical environment and are excited to contribute to the Galileo program. You have advanced analytic skills and are a quick learner. You also have:
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Information Technology/Security or equivalent;
• Relevant working experience (3-10 years);
• Advanced knowledge of object oriented programming;
• Basic knowledge of IT communication protocols (TCP/IP stack);
• Galileo program knowledge is desirable.

Your working environment
As System (design) Architect you are going to work for our CGI Space Team. One of our projects is to implement the core security of the Galileo Program. CGI delivers complex, mission-critical space software systems across Europe, Asia and North America, supporting programs from satellite navigation, communications and operations, to space-enabled applications. Galileo is Europe’s own global satellite system and currently consists of a constellation of 22 satellites. It is capable of providing a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control. The system is still under development and has recently entered the Exploitation Phase.
