Storage Administrator

Position Description
The Storage Administrator position supports a multi-vendor SAN infrastructure (HDS, EMC, IBM) with Brocade and CISCO MDS fabric switches. Our team supports provisioning, project work (design), solutioning and performance/capacity management.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Working knowledge of SAN fabrics, HDS and EMC enterprise arrays
• Working knowledge of CISCO MDS fabric switches.
• Working knowledge of Actifio and CommVault backup products
• Must be able to work closely with other towers to ensure effective delivery of our Storage solutions
• Perform Fiber channel zoning and array work providing LUNS, adding NFS and CIFS shares, etc.
• Understanding of network routing and firewall requirements
• Develop and implement automated solutions to support operational and SLA objectives.
• Respond quickly and effectively to storage issues and outages
• Strong documentation skills along with the ability to train junior level personnel on day to day data storage tasks
• Provide recommendations to improve design and reduce cost
• Creation of reports for both clients and management
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations for storage support
• Provide technical leadership to more junior team members
• Has experience working in a large storage environment with formal change management practices

• Strong documentation skills along with the ability to train junior level personnel
• Desire to expand responsibilities beyond initially defined job responsibilities to support emerging needs within the organization
• Ability to effectively aggregate, organize, and present information
• Pragmatic ability to balance process compliance, quality, innovation, and expedience
• Exceptional collaboration, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

• Experience with ITIL v3 preferred
