Role Summary/Purpose
As a UI Developer you will develop front end applications that ensure a highly functional and delightful experience for researchers performing automated biological imaging. You will also work to verify that your designs meet the specifications defined for the applications. Your work will contribute to advancing biological research including drug discovery and cancer research.
Essential Responsibilities
• Develop front-end systems using Java and Swing for instrument acquisition software solutions
• Work closely with instrument control and image processing developers to deliver imaging solutions to our customers
• Leverage understanding of user workflows to optimize interface for ease of use
• Validate performance of system through automated test and collaboration with test engineers
• Work with system engineers to define requirements for system performance
• Collaborate with system engineers, backend developers, and user experience design teams to implement UI solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions
• Act as a member of the development team, representing the face of high quality design and development practices
Qualifications/Requirements
• At least 3 years’ experience in Java programming
• Experience in multi-threaded programming
• Ability to understand and work within a large existing code base
• A minimum of 3 years’ professional front-end development experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Issaquah, WA
• Must be 18 years or older

• Understanding of UX principles and best practice
• Demonstrated ability to excel in an Agile development environment
