Junior-Mid level Java Programmer Analysts

Position Description
The Java Programmer/Analyst is responsible for performing analysis, modification, documentation and support of daily operations for a Health Care/Medicare/Medicaid systems and other applications. They will work closely with the business side to understand business requirements and ensure that application systems properly function to meet business needs, delivering value across the organization. The position will consult with end users to identify current operation procedures, clarify program objectives, evaluate business requirements and implement innovative solutions in a fast paced team-oriented environment. This position includes designing, coding, modifying, testing, debugging, documenting, installing, and deploying application systems. Have the ability to work independently or in conjunction with other programmers. Your future duties and responsibilities
• Develop, test, document, implement, and maintain Enterprise and Customized applications and interfaces for departmental initiatives
• Develop end user reports and perform analytics.
• Troubleshoot, support and maintain critical information systems. Analyze and identify time-sensitive system problems that could have an impact on business operations
• Analyze existing processes and identify dependencies and potential break points, and recommend and implement improved technical solutions
• Partner with internal customers to understand requirements in business terms and translate those requirements into technical solutions. This includes developing new capabilities as well as break fix
• Convert project specs into sequence of detailed instructions & logical steps for coding in a computer processing language; applying knowledge of computer programming techniques / computer languages
• Analyze, review, and alter programs and interfaces to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements
• Document program development, logic, coding, and corrections
• Write functional specifications
• Plan, develop, and test document programs applying knowledge of programming techniques / computer systems
• Evaluate user requests for new / modified programs and interfaces
• Assist in solving operating problems
• Install and test programs and interfaces; monitor program performance after implementation Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 3 to 5 Year’s experience programming with Java
• Experience with SOAP and REST APIs
• Experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server
• Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau and Power BI
• Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows
• Experience with IDEs like Eclipse, NetBeans, or Visual Studio Code

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of system life cycle / application development alternatives
• High aptitude for complex problem analysis / resolution
• Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively present to target audience
• Ability to effectively work with all levels of personnel within the organization
• Detail-orientated; uses sound judgment; and is self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks
• Very good organization and time management skills
• Proficient with Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio, Share Point, MS Project
• Experience with EDI
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
