You will become part of a multinational team ensuring the integration and verification of the ground control and payload processing system for a satellite mission. Applying your strong communication skills you will interact with other teams to analyze system defects and progress with integration and testing. Where feasible you will use scripting to ease/automate your daily work. Eventually, you will keep your fingers crossed while watching the life stream of the satellite launch together with the rest of the satellite mission team.

Junior I&V (Integration & Verification) Engineer for our Space Division (m/f/d)

Position Description
You will become part of a multinational team ensuring the integration and verification of the ground control and payload processing system for a satellite mission. Applying your strong communication skills you will interact with other teams to analyze system defects and progress with integration and testing. Where feasible you will use scripting to ease/automate your daily work. Eventually, you will keep your fingers crossed while watching the life stream of the satellite launch together with the rest of the satellite mission team.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Based on Test Specifications and the limitations of the current component versions to be tested you develop Test Procedures to cover Integration Testing and Verification Testing. You raise concerns where the required tests don’t seem feasible. During your daily work you use a Linux Test Environment taking advantage of network analysis tools and scripting to ease and automate testing.

Furthermore your area of activities include the following tasks:
• Integration Testing
• Verification Testing
• Test Procedure Development and formal Execution
• Formal Reporting of Results to the Verification Control Team
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system problems

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You have a University degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline relevant to the job profile. You have experience in working in a project team in your area of expertise at least as part of your education or preferably from student or full time employment. Additional to the technical know-how you are characterized by your social competencies. You enjoy team-oriented work, bring excellent communication skills and an analytical mind. Working with complex systems sounds like a refreshing challenge to you.

Your competencies include:

• Understanding of software and system testing concepts
• Good skills in Linux/UNIX, bash scripting and network protocols
• Development Experience in Python
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent verbal and written English language skills

The following skills would be an advantage:
• Knowledge of relevant ECSS standards
• Satellite Communications (packet TM/TC, PUS Standard, SLE protocol)
• Experience with version control systems like git
