Junior Flight Dynamics Engineer (m/f/d) for our Space Division

We are seeking talented junior and experienced Software Architects and Engineers to further strengthen our team and help us deliver some of the most exciting and complex ground systems in Europe.

Our Flight Dynamics team members perform all operational activities related to controlling the spacecraft orbit and attitude. As a team member you will be involved with the complete systems and operational lifecycle for the actual spacecraft operations, ranging from early capturing of requirements, to design, implementation and testing of the flight dynamics systems & tools and finally with performing actual critical (for example, launch) and routine operations. The Flight Dynamics team members are usually involved in many satellite missions at the same time which means you combine development of new systems for upcoming missions with critical and/or routine operations for active spacecraft

Aufgaben
Mission Operation Tasks:
Command Generation
o Execution of and support to operational tasks
o Generation of task related command parameters
o Generation of task related reports

Mission Planning Support:
o Execution of and support to operational tasks
o Generation of mission planning related products, such as schedules and planning input

Flight Dynamics Application Layer:
o Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer

Flight Dynamics System Development:
o Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements
o Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements
o Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platform(s)- design, coordination and implementation of tests
o Participation in tests at sub-system and system level including operational readiness validation
o Set-up procedures
o Flight Dynamics (Sub-)System configuration
o Coordination of internal and external interfaces and activities across subsystems

The work in Flight Dynamics is continuously changing, challenging and highly technical. The working environment is completely pan-European and very dynamic. The working language is English.

Qualifikation
• Masters degree or higher in Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering
• Expert knowledge of:
o Linear algebra, in particular for problem solving related to geometry in the Euclidean 3 – dimensional space.
• Calculus in one or several variables.
• Numerical methods for:
o Equations solving,
o Integration of differential equations,
o Function approximation and interpolation,
o Optimisation,
o Linear algebra problems.
• Classical mechanics, including:
o Kinematics and dynamics of point masses,
o Dynamics of rigid body,
o Dynamics expressed in non-inertial frames,
o Conservation laws in mechanics,
o Gravitational forces and field,
o Orbit dynamics, keplerian orbits and Kepler laws
• Knowledge of C++, knowledge of Fortran 77/95/2002 is an advantage
• Fluent in written and spoken English

The tasks to be performed require considerable initiative, flexibility and independence in executing theassigned tasks.
