CGI’s Burnaby office is located in a newly opened Solo district high-rise, providing a bright, modern work environment with excellent views and conveniences, next to the Brentwood Town Center Skytrain station.

CGI has an immediate opportunity for a programmer-analyst on a team delivering core banking software to a group of financial institutions in Canada. You’ll enhance the core software development kit (SDK) – the foundation and high-level language underpinning the banking system.

The core banking SDK is C++ based, with many C# and .NET components and layers that comprise the entire solution, giving the opportunity to work on the technologies and areas that most interest you and suit your technical skills.

Your future duties and responsibilities
You’ll have the opportunity for collaborative work as part of a team, or on individual projects, depending on your preference

You’ll utilize and build meaningful experience on the latest Microsoft development tools, technologies and platforms, including the latest Microsoft Visual Studio development environment, integrating with Microsoft SQL Server as part of the “full-stack” solution

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
We are looking for a strong C / C++ developer who enjoys working on both low-level code as well as higher-level abstractions (Win32 / native C++ code, as well as some C++/CLI code).

Required:

Self-motivated and able to learn, understand and become proficiently in code quickly
Technical proficiency in C++, Microsoft SQL Server
C# and the .NET Framework is a plus
Experience or a desire to work with compiler technologies, runtime frameworks and relational database management systems is a definite advantage
Banking system experience is an asset
Strong analytic and problem solving skills are essential, as is the determination to find creative solutions to technical obstacles
A commitment to quality, results and a thorough approach to deliverables

Required level of Education :
Degree in Computer Science or post secondary diploma with relevant work experience
