We're expanding our Financial Services Team in Atlantic Canada and we need your skills, enthusiasm, and dedication as part of our team. We expect you to have great technical skills but as important, we are looking for someone who can be an excellent team member and provide exceptional client support. Your role is only limited by your potential.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As an ETL Automation QA Analyst, the successful candidate will:

• Work on projects to support strategic and legacy systems.

• Perform requirements analysis and quality risk analysis.

• Support the creation of Test Strategies and Test Plans.

• Develop and maintain test cases, automated scripts, and traceability matrices.

• Facilitate the identification and preparation of test data.

• Detect, log, and retest defects.

• Maintain a solid understanding of software testing best practices, methodologies, and terminologies.

• Adhere to existing processes/standards including the software development lifecycle (SDLC), test strategy, business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines and escalate issues as required.

• Work with team members to prioritize and manage your own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines.

• Support a positive work environment that promotes service to business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/points of interest.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

• A University degree or a Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience, ISTQB certification is an asset.

• 3-5 years of professional working experience in the field of software testing including 2+ years of hands on experience in ETL testing and test automation experience using in-house automation framework or industry ETL testing tools.

• Experience with industry standard automation test tools such as Selenium, ParaSoft SOATest or REST-Assured.

• Hands on experience with industry standard test/team management tools including Jira, ALM and Confluence.

• Strong SQL background - Experience in writing and interpreting complex SQL queries.

• Hands on experience with ETL, ideally with Datastage and Talend.

• Experience testing with different data formats such as JSON, XML/XSD, CSV, Fixed Length EBCIDIC, Parquet.

• Experience in testing with different databases - SQL Server, Oracle, DW, Postgres, Hive.

• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem including strong understanding of HQL, HDFS data storage, data partitioning and data ingestion/extraction via Scoop/Oozie is an asset.

• Experience with at least one of the following programming/scripting language is an asset - Java, Python, Jquery, JavaScript, Angular, VBA etc.

• Experience in the Insurance and/or Wealth Business domains is an asset.
