Role synopsis

The commercial analyst is an active member of the Planning and Commercial Operations Finance Organization.
The team is responsible for JV Management, Investment Governance, agreements handling, negotiations with the NOC, Cost and Partner Recoveries, crude supply and trading working on business development opportunities and appraising investment decisions. Key relationships span across the business from the projects delivery managers, Joint Venture (JV) technical teams, EGPC and partners.

Specifically the team is involved in:
·  Economic analysis for investment decision making
·  Developing investment business cases and preparing BP approval documentation (e.g. Financial Memorandums, Authority to Negotiate) for seeking appropriate authorities or to release investment funds
·  Coordination of GFO Zero and the Business Plan process
·  Hydrocarbon Trading to secure the crude oil sales revenues
·  Planning and performance management of in year Area performance
·  Supporting JV performance management process
·  Receivables management with EGPC and EGAS
Success in this role depends on the ability of the candidate to conduct accurate analysis based on a good understanding of the fiscal regime.

Key accountabilities

·  Provide effective economic analysis for decision making purposes in support of operations investments– including articulation of the business case, fit with strategy, risks and reward, and reporting Economic metrics under different commercial & technical scenarios
·  Preparation of Financial Memorandums (FMs). Ensuring Partner's alignment through the AFE documentation.
·  Reserves/SMOG - Support estimation and reporting of proved / probable reserves and SMOG valuation
·  Manage the OCM process, address partners requests and provide latest forecast for cash call reporting
·  Insightful analysis for output metrics to support management in having a better understanding for financial outlook & direct their focus towards areas of possible improvement
·  Support NOJV Management Requirements
·  Support negotiations and drafting agreements for new business opportunities
·  Identify financial options & commercial optimization for the area to deliver cash and grow value. Manage commercial risks to protect and secure value
·  Cash & WC Awareness - Proactively communicate the cash and WC impact of potential business decisions. Identify opportunities to deliver cash inflow through WC management
Essential Education

·  Graduate / Post graduate degree Economics/Finance
Desirable criteria and qualifications

·  Experience of applying economic evaluations methodology
·  Commercial operations experience in oil and gas business

Essential experience and job requirements

·  Good understanding of the E&P and Egypt businesses as well as the strategic business perspective to be able to challenge inputs received to ensure alignment on resource usage and optimization.
·  Ability to manage data with the necessary rigor and attention to detail to underpin insightful analysis
·  Demonstrates commercial acumen
·  Demonstrates strategic thinking and the ability to create insights from data analysis and challenge the status quo
·  Financial analytical skills under the PSA regime
·  Excellent understanding of economic indicators and capable to apply.
·  Excellent interpersonal skills, influencing, networking and relationship building, and proven ability to influence key stakeholders.
·  This role is only open to Egyptian nationals
