Realtime Systems Engineer role in Västerås (Sweden)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Work with embedded systems and software/FPGA development within the propulsion control of trains. You will be an integral part of a software development team.
Tasks will range from technical investigations, requirements definition, design, implementation, test, verification and documentation. The work will include coordination with colleagues in other locations and might require limited travel.
Knowledge and understanding of embedded systems (HW and/or SW) is required and experience from product development, is beneficial. Experience from safety, quality assurance, tool validation, and other safety applications are beneficial since the job includes formal safety activities in order to enable Bombardier to prove it adheres to relevant safety standards.

YOUR ROLE

- Develop and maintain embedded systems and software/FPGA;
- Support other team members in solving technical issues;
- Perform requirements collection and investigations;
- Perform design, implementation, testing and verification of software, as part of safety critical control system;
- Review of technical solutions, code and documentation;
- Validation and assessments.

Qualifications

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Education: Master degree or PhD in Computer Engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience;
- Solid understanding of FPGA / VHDL, Real time systems, Signal processing, Data communication;
- Signal processing and/or digital electronics;
- Able to both read and write technical documentation;
- Problem solving skills, team player, good communication skills;
- Fluent in Swedish and/or English;
- Experience from safety critical applications and/or EN50126/28/29 (or other related standards such as ISO26262, IEC61508 etc) is beneficial.
