We are always ready to speak to highly skilled and experienced people for our site in Crespin, and, we are currently looking to recruit an Mechanical Vehicle Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering team.

Role:

To technically define, develop and lead the whole of the design for the Entrance systems. With full design lifecycle responsibility, from ensuring a complete and correct set of requirements are established to ensuring the developed train architectures, concepts and designs are valid and correctly integrated as to meet the technical requirements in a class leading, competitive and compliant design.

Key Responsibilities and Challenges:

• Creates, reviews and approves technical specifications, estimates costs and schedules, plans his/her own work of others, initiates and leads engineering design programs.Mentors less experienced engineers while requiring little personal supervision, imparts technical expertise and experience to others, demonstrates a consistently high level of quality and personal integrity.

• Designs engineering systems and complex interfaces, gathers and analyzes complicated technical data, solves system level design problems, performs system trade-off and coordination studies, creates novel design alternatives, develops reliability, safety and maintainability approaches, decides on optimum design approach.

• Understands, interfaces with and influences the design in relation to product and other systems.

• Tests, demonstrates and documents system level designs, develops test procedures, leads design reviews internally and with customers, delegates works to subordinates.

• Provides technical expertise in support of Customer Service, Program Management, Manufacturing, Field Start-up, Operations and Maintenance Manual production.

• Develops the long term vision and roadmap for future systems and their integration into the vehicle.

• Develops and delivers solutions and innovations which deliver a competitive advantage.

• Performs cost analyses, evaluates and recommend systems, sub-systems and components and the associated supply chain technical solution.

• Understands, interfaces with and influences the design in relation to product and other systems.

Profil recherché

Qualifications

• Master Degree and/or Chartered status (preferred and essential), PhD degree desirable, with significant previous experience.

• Extensive experience in Entrance system and also have a proven demonstrable track record in the discipline of complex System Integration. Knowledge and awareness of other systems is desirable.

• Evidence of having successfully undertaken a significant technically role, leading small team(s) in the development of a new train design, or an area of train design, from concept developed through to delivery

• Experience or sound understanding of defining, structuring and developing a rolling stock concept and design.

• Experience and hands on delivery of the design, analysis, development, testing and delivery of engineering solutions that solve complex requirements.

• Provide cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs.

• Provide technical expertise in vehicle level concept development

• Be able to demonstrate the ability to use this technical knowledge in the support of other departments (engineering, production, procurement, projects) and the development of less experienced engineering personnel.

• Experience of developing and applying a range of system engineering process and tools e.g. DOORS requirements management database

• Experience of working across many different disciplines, with indirect reports to delivery complaint cost effective solutions technical solutions to schedule and budget.

• Working on rolling stock bids desirable

• Experience of converting the customer's explicit and implicit technical and functional requirements into technical/ functional specifications to be used by design teams
