RESPONSIBILITIES

The goal of BASF's wheat breeding activities in Europe is to establish competitive hybrid wheat varieties in our key markets. The position can be exercised from Gatersleben or Limburgerhof.

·  You will lead a research program to increase efficiency in the hybrid seed production across Germany and will commission seed producers or service providers to conduct trials within the agreed timeline.
·  Along with the timely provision of basic seed at every site, you will support and supervise the trials over the course of the season from sowing to harvest.
·  You will collect field data, perform assessments, enter the data in the PRISM database and submit reports, conclusions and suggestions this way in order to create a production protocol for each hybrid type for the certified seed production.
·  Moreover, you will support local seed production teams with seminars, trainings and ongoing consultation to enable optimal certified seed production.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  bachelor´s or master´s degree in agricultural science
·  first professional experience in seed production, preferably with hybrid grains
·  sound knowledge of wheat agronomy and physiology as well as related technologies
·  knowledge about the different regional agronomic conditions in Germany
·  fluent in English and German
·  driver´s license category B
