Scientific Programmer - Biometrician (2001829) – Morrisville, NC

Formula for Success  

Analyze requirements based on existing IT infrastructure for a future-proof decision-making platform to support our business needs.

Create innovative, scalable, fault-tolerant software solutions with clear technical specifications and documentation.

Automate frequently used scientific workflows.

Implementation of new methods developed in-house or through collaboration is one of your key responsibilities.

With your analytical mindset, you support R&D specialists and contribute to research activities.

Work closely together with the head of Biometrics and the Biometrics Technology lead.

Interact with project managers, designers, other developers, systems analysts, and R&D specialists.

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related scientific field with a strong affinity for applied statistics. Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.

Possess a creative and innovative mindset and act proactively.

Strong scripting skills in R and are proficient in at least another programming language e.g. Python and Java.

Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Work autonomously with limited supervision from senior team members.

Experience supporting and working with cross-disciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.

Experience with databases, REST-oriented APIs and with JavaScript is considered a plus.

Plant or animal breeding belongs to your field of interest.

Experience in applied statistics in the Life Sciences area is considered a plus.
