In the Advanced Materials & Systems Research Division, our multifaceted team works together to develop functional materials and systems for high-performance, innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers in various different industries. At the same time, we meet the legal and economic requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Our "Polymers for Industrial & Automotive Coatings" research group works with colleagues from the operating units to develop new or improved raw materials for industrially applied coatings. This includes the development of UV-curable coating raw materials as binders for applications in various segments such as furniture/flooring. Trends such as the increase in reactivities for processing and curing using modern LED technology or the consideration of sustainable raw material components are among the challenges.

·  You observe and evaluate market trends and competitor activities for the respective field of activity.
·  You will also make recommendations for new products, projects and applications as part of the innovation chain process in consultation with the relevant project teams.
·  You will define, initiate and manage projects and product developments that are close to the market and customers.
·  Furthermore, you will be responsible for establishing and expanding contacts with operational units and scientific partners.
·  You will manage the research laboratory technically within the budget and organize the workflow in consultation with the laboratory team and, if necessary, coordinate the work in the pilot plant.
·  Your responsibilities also include compliance with occupational health and safety as well as environmental protection regulations in your area of responsibility. In addition, you will initiate risk assessments and implement appropriate measures.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  Phd in chemistry
·  preferably know-how in the field of radiation curable polymer compounds
·  well-founded knowledge of modern analytical methods
·  fluent in German and English for communication and presentations with internal as well as external partners
·  experienced handling of established standard IT systems and software
·  skills in project management
·  determined working methods and personal responsibility to drive innovation
