Where the Chemistry Happens…
Machine Operator – Ames, IA (1902502)

The Machine Operator role is responsible for the mixing and packaging of various liquid and solid raw materials to produce a finished product of high quality that is ready for shipment to the customer. This role is also responsible for the achievement of production, safety, and quality goals as outlined by their supervisor.

Production Duties:

·  Operate various filling and packaging equipment including liquid fillers and form-fill and seal machines.

·  Follow mix ticket instructions to accurately weigh and add raw materials to batches.

·  Follow instructions on fill tickets when packaging product.

·  Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products, completing all finished good quality checks as required on batch ticket.

·  Provide direction to assigned team.

·  Record necessary data on all batch tickets.

·  Comply with all safety regulations; always maintain a safe work environment.

·  Continually maintain plant and work environment for cleanliness and organization.

·  Notify a supervisor when an issue arises (ie: intermediate or finished good quality, personnel conflicts, equipment issues, etc.)

·  Operate forklifts as required (certification course required).

·  Participation on various teams (ISO internal Audit, IDQC, NCM, etc)

·  Lifting up to 50 lbs required

·  Working with chemicals, both hazardous and non-hazardous

·  Environmental temperature changes within the production area

·  Forklift traffic / general production plant hazards

·  Moving / equipment in operation, including mixers, conveyors, and blenders

·  Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
·  High School Diploma or GED required.

·  One year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
·  Any forklift experience is preferred.
