About Risk, Treasury, Finance and Data Technology
The Risk, Treasury, Finance and Data Technology (RFTD) team is responsible for designing, developing and supporting strategic platforms for effective credit- & market risk, treasury and finance solutions for the Barclays Corporate and Investment (CIB) Bank in Africa. Underpinning these solutions is a data platform which not only enables risk and finance data aggregation and reporting, but also allows for exponential growth in the organisation in our journey to become a leading FinTech company.

At present, we have more than 30 developers working on several RFTD projects in Prague, and we are looking to further expand our Prague team. We are looking for someone who is innovative and passionate about building strategic solutions in an agile and flexible work environment, where there is constant interaction and debate with all stakeholders to deliver the optimal solutions. We are looking for someone who has the ability to focus and obtain specific solutions within specific business areas, and also able to identify patterns and generic solutions that can be used across the various business areas. The idea is to create “scalable” products which we can quickly solve business problems in a robust and stable manner with the opportunity to potentially commercialize in a “startup” fashion.

Overall purpose of role
We are looking for a bright developer with 1-4 years of experience (also being a graduate with past part time jobs is perfectly fine) for Data Platforms & Infrastructure team who is able to learn fast on the job, is into solving complex problems and who is up for working in a small team and is able to communicate with other teams in order to clarify requirements. Number of years of professional experience is much less important than your potential for the future.

The Data platforms & infrastructure team is responsible for evolving still a young, three year old system build entirely by the Prague team. Its purpose is to consolidate CIB (Corporate Investment Banking) data in one place providing unified API for consumers. This is about processing large amount of data daily, being scalable and robust.
