Job Title: API Software Engineer
Location: Radbroke, Knutsford

Barclays is going through an exciting growth period with an abundance of exciting projects scheduled. Our Client Treasury Services & Digital division are responsible for building, evolving and transforming the way our clients interface with our applications. We look after the largest client facing channels and applications.
As the API Software Engineer, you will sit in the API Delivery Factory team, which is a relatively new function. They deliver regulatory and non-regulatory API solutions for our clients via large scale delivery RESTful API's, in line with group wide strategy.

What will you be doing?

• Develop RESTful API's as per RAML and E2E designs specific by design team for all API factory projects
• Run with both regulatory and non-regulatory projects, which is critical towards the banks shift towards API first architecture
• Align with group wide CI/CD pipeline and work with central team to enhance and evolve
• Act as mentor/consultant to other engineering teams who are delivering API's
• Influencing leaders within the business, including at architecture and design panels
• Champion new initiatives within and beyond own scope

What we're looking for:

• Excellent Java ability
• Thorough RESTful API understanding
• Awareness of DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins, SonarQube, GIT, Groovy)

Skills that will help you in the role:

• AWS experience / commercial awareness
• UI Java Skills, such as React and Angular
• Excellent communication skills, able to influence others

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our technology hub in the North West, located at Radbroke Hall in Knutsford. It's convenient for most individuals who live within a 35-mile radius, spanning from Liverpool, Chester, Manchester and Stoke. It's a lively atmosphere with large open plan offices, with everything you need on site including various catering options, Starbucks, Gym, onsite parking etc.
