Designer – Product and Packaging
Would you like to thrive in an exciting and critical role within the Land (UK) business area?? We currently have a vacancy for a Designer (Product & Packaging) at our site in Glascoed.
As a Designer (Product & Packaging), you will be involved in the design and development of new products. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and will have the opportunity to work with designers from other teams.
This diverse role will provide you with the opportunity to engage and work with the project teams, as well as the chance to visit our other Land (UK) sites . The newly redeveloped Glascoed site offers excellent staff facilities and benefits including a gym, football courts, as well as bespoke training courses and support for chartership and higher education.
Your main responsibilities as a Designer (Product & Packaging) will involve:
Producing 3d models, CAD, 2D, detailed drawings, related to the above product and its packaging
Generation of an engineering bill of material, using Teamcentre
Design calculations
Report writing re products and trials of these
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Completed an apprenticeship in a production/engineering facility
HNC or equivalent in Production or Design Engineering
Experience of working in a drawing office environment
Experience working with CAD systems - Solidworks, NX or Pro Engineer
Good understanding of BS8888 (Drawing standards)
Desirable:
Experience working with Siemens Unigraphics NX CAD systems
Working knowledge of Teamcentre.
Knowledge of drawing and configuration management

Salary: £32,285 + commensurate with skills and experience
