Procurement Professional
Would you like to work within an exciting team, working on current contracts, new bids and supply chain requirements? We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Professional at our site in Radway Green, Washington or Glascoed.
As a Procurement Professional, you will be working within the Category supply area executing the sourcing process based on the Category Strategy, production volumes and unique project requirements.
This role will provide you with exposure to both internal and external customers, as well as exposure to management. You will gain experience working within a clearly defined framework, with a focus on gaining experience and understanding of the Procurement environment.
Your main responsibilities as a Procurement Professional will involve:
Contributing to the performance of the Procurement Category team to deliver benefits in terms of Quality, Cost Reduction, Supplier Management Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Providing professional expertise to all stakeholders and support to the management of a specialist Procurement package, through the deployment of Category Strategies and management of allocated Suppliers (Tactical)
Engaging with various stakeholders to ensure the programme, products and in-service strategies are integrated into sourcing selection, negotiation, and contracting strategies, in line with business objectives and processes
Managing supplier performance and relationships to ensure delivery, quality, financial stability and in-service performance
Reporting upon Key Performance Indicators to identify and monitor allocated supplier performance through the use of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People framework and inputting this into the monthly submission to the IDT Business Balanced Scorecard and the Procurement Balanced Scorecard
Timely creation, revision and maintenance of Schedule Agreements and Purchase Orders within SAP, for their assigned suppliers
Creating and maintaining Procurement SAP data related to their allocated category area including, but not limited to, Material Masters, Purchasing Information Records, Source Lists, Vendor Masters, Schedule Agreements and Purchase Orders in line with the Business Management System.
Ensuring all Import/Export Control data relating to their allocated category area is correct and maintained
Timely resolution to issues relating to operational requirements
Your Skills and Qualifications
ESSENTIAL:
Ideally working towards MCIPS (or equivalent) or relevant training and experience of working in an operational Procurement environment
Experience of working as part of a multi-functional team to deliver business objectives
Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills
Procurement and contract management experience, preferably in a Defence or manufacturing business
Ability to influence at all levels and manage stakeholders’ expectations
Experience of utilising Supplier Relationship Management tools and techniques to drive performance
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
DESIRABLE:
Good working knowledge of using SAP or other ERP systems
Experience of Life Cycle Management
Experience of Import, Export, ITAR & EAR legislation
Project Management experience

Willingness to travel to suppliers to participate in business reviews and be embedded with suppliers as part of Supplier Performance improvement activity, if necessary

Salary: £33 092
