Integration Trials Engineer
Would you like to be involved in developing and delivering the Combat System (CS) integration trials programme for the Royal Navy's new Type 26 Frigate? We currently have a vacancy for an Integration Trials Engineer

As an integration trials engineer in the T26 Combat Systems Integration Trials Team you will be able to help establish and conduct the Combat System integration trials plans and procedures to be used at the Land Based Integration Facility and throughout the construction of each Type 26 platform, initially based at Portsdown Technology Park and then moving to Scotstoun as the build develops

The Integration Trials Engineer will provide engineering expertise and experience to the T26 Combat Systems Trials programme supporting the installation, setting to work, trials and acceptance of the Combat System. This will include the development of, conduct, analysis of and support to Combat System Equipment integration, acceptance, assurance and de-risking activities to be conducted at the Land Based Integration Facility, Supplier's sites, in Scotstoun and on-board the ships

This role is an ideal development opportunity in Combat Systems Engineering and Integration.

Your main responsibilities as an Integration Trials Engineer will involve:

Generate, deliver and review Acceptance and Integration Trials documentation. This will include the research and inclusion of previous platform integration packages and the ‘pull through' of information as necessary

Undertake the preparations for, conduct of, analysis and formal reporting of acceptance and integration trials to demonstrate the integration requirements associated with individual CS equipment and ensuring their operation within the context of the wider Combat System

Conduct CS interface fault finding, diagnostics and testing to ensure continuity of signal path on system interface cables

Support Delivery Managers and wider Trials team through the provision of specialist engineering expertise as required

Your skills and qualifications:

Knowledge of Combat System Equipment used in the maritime environment and some experience of system integration and trials

Previous experience of Maritime External Communications systems in a trials and /or operational environment is preferred

Ability to generate Integration Trials documentation from Requirements, Interface Specifications and other Supplier documentation

Ability to conduct CS Trials Schedules, then analyse and report results.

Location : This post will be based at the Portsdown Technology Park for 2 years (until 2021), then it will transfer to Scotstoun for integration activities in the First of Class build programme
