The headquarters of the AXA Group, based in Paris 8th, brings together the Group's corporate activities. It coordinates the various entities with the Group's strategy, and is responsible for managing international projects. Department presentation:

The department mandate is to support AXA P&C entities in growing their activities in a sustainably and profitably. Moreover, the department is promoting technical excellence practices across the world.

The Actuarial and Underwriting Solutions team develops actuarial frameworks on Natural Catastrophes risks (amongst others) and underwriting solutions for entities worldwide, group hub of our actuarial and CAT expertise, working towards the technical transformation of the group on those risks.

Within this team, the Geospatial Solutions division has built for 3 years an internal GIS solution identified as the reference tool for commercial lines underwriters dealing with natural catastrophes covers within the Group, by providing them with risk maps, live geo-data feeds, technical pricing models, accumulation monitoring…

Driven by this success and the strong willingness to tackle greater challenges, the team is undertaking a core transformation of its geo-data capabilities.

Primary missions for this position:

We are recruiting a project engineer to join on this transformation journey, develop our applicative functionalities and strive for its integration worldwide.
Reporting to Head of Geospatial Data Solutions, he/she will:
· Develop capabilities on applications and actuarial topics by
· Actively contributing to our developments by leveraging skills on our tech stack (R, Shiny web app, APIs, GIS, geodatabases, AWS Cloud)
· Prototyping on new features (new algorithms, data pipelines, geo-processing...) and extensions of our actuarial models
· Integrating entities requirements to our solution, placing clients' needs at the core of our solutions
· Support the Head of Geospatial Data Solutions by
· Building a deep understanding of our application and development/deployment strategy to strengthen our ability to meet business needs
· Being able to lead autonomously sub-streams of the project and taking ownership of the development of the outcome
· Support the deployment of the GIS worldwide and its integration within entities by
· Developing a fair understanding of the actuarial and underwriting requirements with entities to provide them with solutions and assist them in their technical transformation
· Leading change management within entities: being responsible of the technical transformation within a geography and supporting with the actuarial solutions and geospatial capabilities built
This position offers a great exposure around the Group, supporting different functions among entities, on a highly valued segment while working on innovative solutions and dealing directly with IT, GIS and insurance challenges

Profil recherché

Qualifications :

Background & Experience:
·  0 to 5 years of experience
· 
Engineering school (applied maths, computer science, actuarial school)

·  Experience on an innovative project
Technical & Professional Skills:
· 
Proficient programming skills (R is a must) and advanced IT knowledge

·  Experience with R Shiny is valued
· 
Exposure to Data Science, P&C Insurance or Catastrophe modelling is a plus

Soft Skills & Competencies:

Language: English ( Fluent ), French (a plus)
