Job description

The headquarters of the AXA Group, based in Paris 8th and 17th, brings together the Group's corporate activities. It coordinates the various entities with the Group's strategy and is responsible for managing international projects. The headquarters has approximately 800 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (39 nationalities).

The position will report to Group head of Technology Innovation having locations in Paris 17th (France), on the EPFL campus in Lausanne (Switzerland) and in San Francisco (USA). This new unit was created earlier in 2018 to contribute to a global strategic program of digital transformation and innovation to drive AXA towards becoming a tech-led company.

It is not only an innovation unit but also, and above all, an engineering team helping AXA entities to “test and learn” their ideas leveraging emerging technologies and scale them across the group. We strongly believe in learning by doing and acknowledge we have the right to fail if we learn along the way.

Our projects span from IT related topics, to computer vision, cognitive services, bots, drones and many other web/mobile initiatives. Our mission is to transform an idea into a first stage of execution. Once the feasibility and the value for users is confirmed, we scale it with the help of industrialization teams.

DOMAINS OF RESPONSABILITY

We are the Tech Innovation team of AXA Group. We are a group of passionate software engineers, data scientists, actuaries and designers on a mission to identify or invent the technologies that will support the transformation of insurance.

As a Product owner , you'll work with AXA people from Engineering, Product, Actuaries, Distribution teams. Your role is to deliver innovation solutions that will redefine the way our industry is operating, leveraging the latest tech innovations.

MISSIONS

We are responsible for the delivery of some innovation solutions and we are looking for a passionate product owner to reinforce our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in innovation and understand how to mature an idea. Before becoming a product (group asset), most new initiatives are managed more likely as projects in the first few weeks/months before we are convinced it could become a product. We expect our future colleague to make this difference while making sure smooth transitions/evolutions are planned appropriately (methodologies, ….). As an impact driven intrapreneur, you will have the following responsibilities:

· Initially :
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Ensure resource availability and allocation and execution.
• Meet with clients (AXA entities in countries where the group is present) to identify which projects can scale and become group assets
· Then :
• Developing and adapting products vision.
• Managing a portfolio of products, develop new products and enhance existing ones.
• Managing the product backlog and define priorities
• Evangelize your peers within AXA about the solutions you develop and contribute to the Data and Technology Innovation Team reputation

Qualifications :

PROFIL

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a start-up or in a tech-driven company, with an entrepreneur mindset, meaning a good understanding of technologies coupled with a strong sense of strategy and business impact.

We expect you to be autonomous and able to learn.

• Master's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
• 5-6 years of project management or related experience.

SKILLS

• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven working experience in project/product management with a focus on software products and technologies. Experience in developing Innovative Insurance IT products is a plus.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment, and to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends; excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• You have a bias toward action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.
• Passionate about technology and visionary about new technology applications
• Excellent written and verbal English communication. You will do most of your writing in English. Speaking will be English (mandatory) or French. German, a plus.
• Ability to work in an international and cross functional organization as a team player
• Startup experience a plus
