*Please note this is a 12-month contract position with potential for extension/permanent employment.*

If you're a SQL specialist with a talent for crafting and building databases, we want to know!

Aviva's Workplace Savings and Retirement business area is in need of a SQL Developer to help deliver business improvements through by providing solution development, design and implementation skills for corporate databases.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Designing, managing and coordinating an array of effective SQL Server based systems, ensuring all data is accurate.
  • Developing databases and effective processes relating to them.
  • Providing quality data and meaningful information in a timely manner to facilitate MI.
  • Growing the scope and accuracy of the data held by Aviva's Commercial business area by engaging with colleagues and external suppliers.
  • Ensuring full audit data is available to provide accuracy and data integrity throughout development.
  • Assisting strategic and tactical business change improvements for existing tools, including access controls to ensure systems and data remain secure, and providing risk management by identifying weakness within business processes.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of and experience working with SQL Server and SSIS.
  • Advanced knowledge of designing and building relational databases.
  • General knowledge of information and data management protocols/standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and solution design skills.
  • Solid communication and relationship management capabilities - comfortable working with both technical and non-technical audiences.

What will you get for this role?

  • Annual salary of £38,000 - £50,000 depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
