Operations Transitions Analyst – COO - London

The Role

To support the Operations Transitions team in co-ordinating:

· The launch of new funds and closure of existing funds (both internal and 3rd party segregated mandates / funds)

· Opening custody accounts in all global markets with various custodians for Aviva Investors Fund and internal group client base both for new business and incremental.

· Source, review and maintain appropriate documentation and reference data to complete account opening.

· Liaison with internal team to source necessary documents and arrange execution.

· Facilitate completion and review of documents where necessary.

· Instruct relevant custodians to open accounts and monitor timely progress reporting back to stakeholders (i.e. investment team, MANCOs ETC.)

· Serve as an SME/adviser to internal teams regarding the specifics of opening all markets.

· Collection and storage of documentation to open counterparty accounts and annual refresh using MarKit as repository.

· Project managing work flow from end to end.

· Managing multiple internal and external stakeholders and working with outsource suppliers to deliver the above.

Responsibilities

· To provide operational expertise and consultancy on transitions. Build and develop expertise in the Operations Operating Model.

· Co-ordinate as required with MANCOs, Global Client Solutions, Legal, Co Sec, Product and all parties in the project, including our outsourced external suppliers/agents.

· Responsible for producing allocated deliverables on transitions to agreed time and quality.

· To critically examine existing processes suggesting areas where efficiency can be improved, risk reduced and ways of achieving this.

· Source and process data quickly and accurately, relating and comparing data from different sources, recognising gaps, identifying key issues, securing relevant information and 'making the connection'

Requirements

· Comprehensive experience in transitions / fund launches

· Strong global custody experience extending to emerging markets

· Good understanding of operations and regulations of UK, Irish and Luxembourg collective investment schemes

· Good understanding of exchange traded and OTC Derivatives, including IRS, TRS and CDS

· Strong understanding of the investment management end to end process (e.g. back to front office) and related custodial and pooled fund industries is required

· Experience in MS Office applications, e.g. MS Excel and Word, Visio, SharePoint

· Excellent communication both oral and written and co-ordination skills, including influencing and negotiation.

· High level of accuracy and attention to detail

· Trouble shooting & getting things done in a large changing organisation

· Excellent customer focus

· Delivery focused with ability to work to tight deadlines.

· Candidate would be encouraged to work towards and gain the IMC
