Job description

Are you a Finance Business Partner or Finance Business Analyst with experience working with expenses?

 

We're currently seeking an Expense Finance Business Partner (FBP) to join our phenomenal team in our Ireland Life Business area.

 

We require your guidance to support the Head of Finance - Ireland Life to provide complete commercial support to the Ireland Life Business and be responsible for end to end expense management which will include monthly tracking, reporting and challenging the business across aspects of expenses.

 

You will also be responsible for transforming the current expense management processes to ensure best in class approach using automation with appropriate control measures.

 

What will the role involve?

  • Monthly review and challenge of costs to ensure there is a clear view of the reasons for variances and potential for reduction in discretionary spend
  • Understand all costs in each function and the cost
  • Work across different business functions and partner with the business to provide insightful analysis on current and future performance to enable achievement of targets
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports, analysis and commentary as required
  • Monitor headcount against plan on a monthly basis
  • Ensure all balance sheet items are reviewed on a monthly basis and any intercompany variances understood
  • Ownership of forecasting models and preparing 3-year forecasts, in conjunction with the business owners, including group reporting for planning submissions
  • Preparation of interim forecasts as required
  • Ownership of the expense planning process
  • Maintain relationship with WNS, providing support on all expense related tasks and ensuring that service levels provided are in line with expectations
  • Work with the business functions to develop their cost management champions to ensure the onus is on the business to manage their cost with Finance support

 

What knowledge and experience are we looking for?

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at senior management level
  • Good working knowledge of professional standards and codes
  • Excellent understanding of financial drivers and metrics
  • Good experience with finance business partnering, process redesign and improvement
  • Experience working with Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
