Job description

Aviva's Finance and Data Platform Design team are now looking for a Data Solution Designer to join us in a permanent, full time capacity. This role is ideal for those looking to align their functional designs to our new finance and business directions.

In this position you will be able to grow and advise our team as we transition into the world of cloud (AWS) and a range of data lakes and data warehouses, with new tool selection and articulating functional designs. The pace of change here is fast. There are numerous opportunities to develop and implement new, innovative ways to support the business through forward-thinking technology solutions.

The role’s duties & responsibilities:

  • Source and structure data to support technical and regulatory reporting requirements, and power business intelligence insights
  • Understanding design requirements, and designing appropriate data solutions for development teams
  • Work with customers and the wider Finance Platform Team to define technologies to meet functional and non-functional requirements
  • Engage with project and finance business partners to achieve consensus to proposed solutions

Skills & experiences required:

  • Knowledge of software solution development lifecycles and principles of data security
  • Knowledge of accounting standards relevant to Insurance, Life and Pensions business will be viewed very favourably
  • Able to assimilate technical and business information and translate these into practical solutions
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with accountants and other finance users in a Life & Pensions business
