Start time: 1 January 2019, Full time

Experience: Middleweight designer

Skillset: UI design a strongpoint, UX, print, illustration, UI motion

Tools: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Sketch, InVision, Zeplin

Cape Networks was recently acquired by Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, and with that our team is growing.

We are a SaaS company and looking for someone who is interested in this kind of tech environment and has a strong focus on beautiful yet functional UI. This means that we are looking for someone who has a lot of experience in either dashboard designs, apps, intranets and as a bonus, shows strength in UX, icon design, illustration, infographics and has a good eye for layout, pixel perfection and some knowledge in print.

The main focus will be on our current dashboard: future pages, functionality and even animation, developing on our current UI, how we could make it better and also looking into new products and helping with the design process there.

About Aruba CT

In March 2018, Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, acquired Cape, a local startup with a big vision: to improve the way the Internet works. As Cape we built a small team of skilled engineers and designers in Cape Town and a Wi-Fi monitoring product which won us Best Startup of 2017 from Wi-Fi NOW, a global industry body. Now, as part of Aruba, we are growing our team, building new products, and scaling our systems to meet a 1OOX surge in demand during the next 18-24 months.

What do we do? Our product gives IT managers insight into how their Wi-Fi, networks, and apps are performing 24/7 and how to fix any issues before users complain. Other monitoring tools are complex and intimidating, built by network engineers for network engineers; ours is beautiful and simple, and our customers love it. Our hardware agent is a delight to install and our software is easy and fun to use. Our product is used in offices, hotels, airports, stadiums, retail stores, and more-every business with Wi-Fi is a potential customer we can help.

We design our own hardware and our software is built entirely in-house using Python, React, Java and AWS Kinesis among other technologies.

Your role in more detail

· 
Work on current designs & design system made in Sketch (ie. understand the visual language of our dashboard)

· 
Work on new pages/modals/concepts etc. in Sketch → Zeplin

· 
Help with UX processes and critically assess dashboard

· 
Help with animation/UI movement - prototype using your preferred format (eg. InVision Studio, Craft, After Effects)

· 
Work closely with CEO, lead designer and front-end team

· 
Work with team specifically on the scale dashboard that is in progress (ie. many many more customers and how to deal with that)
