Atos Public Safety, an Atos North America company is looking for a Telecom Architect. Candidates must be located in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.

​ Duties and responsibilities

· Administer, install, upgrade and support Telephony systems and their operational components such as hardware, software and configuration, insuring best operational and technical practices and following procedures within the Infrastructure IT team.
· Work with local carriers and service providers to transition the legacy telephony network to VOIP infrastructure. Duties will include working with Atos Carrier services partners and customers local services to provide interconnects to a new VOIP network infrastructure.
· Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively.
· Configure and troubleshoot telephony gateways such as Dialogic or others.
· Maintain the necessary project plans and documentation of all system builds and modifications.
· Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends for both network and Telephony environments.
· Coordinates and works on multiple carrier and originating service providers for managing trunks and interconnects.
· Diagnoses and resolves complex hardware, software and connectivity problems as it relates to both network and Telephony related systems.
· Acts as the technical liaison between operations teams, engineers and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportability. This includes items for the network as well as Telephony environments.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 8 years plus experience gained in similar carrier infrastructure engineering roles.
· 3+ years’ experience working with carrier class organizations like AT&T or Verizon
· 3+ years of wireless telephony infrastructure.
· Solid technical background in environments including; infrastructure networks, hardware, software and telecommunications.
· Background in one or several of the following Telephony environments is preferred: DMS 100 (using Contact Center), Lucent 5ESS, Wireless Carriers, PBX platforms.
· Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
· Strong process documenation experiance and technical writing skills.
· Good understanding of trunking technologies and SBCs
· Strong knowledge of SS7, ISDN, T1/T3 protocols.
· Strong knowledge of SIP protocol.
· Strong virtualization experience using, VMware and Hyper-V.
· Strong knowledge of Linux Administration.
· Ability to maintain good working relationships with third party service providers and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field as well as experience, a plus.
· Professional Certifications are a plus.
