The opportunity

Working within the UK&I Automation team to provide overarching governance for a UK Secure Account within the Global Tooling Architecture Team responsible for Assessments, Designs, and Implementations of Automation solutions, as well as the development of a number of standard blueprints to enable repeatable delivery to clients on automation solutions.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

 

·  Apply Automation standards for utilisation across all solutions, with blueprint technical implementations.
·  Define and manage the automation lifecycle roadmap for deployed tooling
·  Provide Governance and Guidance to Account.
·  Help build, run and report prioritised realisation plans for automation demonstrating value through delivery
·  Provide as required architecture design for a number of automation tooling solutions (Primarily Ansible, but not limited to, Arago, SCCM, BMC TrueSight Server Automation, BeatBox, among others)
·  Work with the IDM Towers to optimise the capabilities and uptake of strategic tooling solutions in order to drive process efficiency and process automation within the factory.
·  Manage the technical evaluation and proof of concept activities related to the development or enhancement of strategic tooling solutions.
·  Support toolset innovation activities in collaboration with colleagues from the wider Global automation organization.
·  Develop and maintain reference architectures for automation solutions adapting as required from appropriate global reference architectures.
·  Take ownership of complex issues and /or business requirements until issues resolved / requirements met
·  Act as a contact point for all account Automation Architecture issues
·  Be an integral part of the UK&I Automation team

Skills we can’t do without:

·  Direct customer stakeholder management
·  The ability to quickly attain knowledge and understanding of complex technical applications;
·  Automation frameworks and tools such as Red Hat Ansible Automation
·  Scripting tools like Ruby or Python
·  Linux and MS Windows in prompt mode, "CLI", text editors, and various SSH clients
·  Agile working practices
·  Knowledge of how to deploy processes for code management (such as Git) at enterprise scale
·  Teammate able to lead from the front

Skills we’d like:

·  History of delivering within Automation
·  Experience of working in agile delivery teams
·  Experience of nurturing talent and promoting automation
·  Good interpersonal skills and ability to persuade/motivate
