The opportunity

To work for an industry leading team delivering an innovative solution for a public sector client. It delivers services to the public directly remotely via business centres and some on-line services. The Reform Programme is ambitious and innovative and requires a flexible workforce to transform the entire Service, improving the provision of a world-class system, in a manner that provides an improved user experience at reduced cost to the taxpayer. This will contribute to consolidating the UK’s position at the forefront of an increasingly competitive international market as well as ensuring access for all. 

 

The programme is of 6 years duration, due to complete in 2022, and is currently running with more than 400 personnel across thirty workstreams. Our pride in offering dynamic solutions reaches further than our clients because we understand that our success comes from the heartbeat of our company; which is ultimately our people. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

The Expert UI team are building the tools that support professional users. The programme follows the SAFe methodology for scaled agile, using programme increments (PIs) of six two-weekly sprint cycles, totalling 12 weeks per PI. Each workstream follows the Scrum framework at the individual team level, typically using sprint cycles of two weeks.

You will be based in central London, working from the client site in East London and must be eligible to obtain security clearance for work within the UK public sector. There may be a requirement to travel wider to Atos/Clien sites across the UK in the future.

 

Skills we can’t do without:

·  HTML5, CSS 3, SASS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 6+
·  Frontend test frameworks (Jasmine, Karma, Protractor)
·  git or other modern distributed version control system, github
·  Crafting and consuming RESTful endpoints
·  Experience of in one or more of these languages, Python, Ruby, Node.JS and Go. 
·  Use of public cloud services to deliver applications. 
·  Developing to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards required for Government Digital Services
·  Worked within multidisciplinary teams in an Agile and DevOps environment.
·  Problem-solving skills and ability collaborate with developers to overcome development and operational issues. 
·  Good communication

Skills we’d like:

·  NgRx/flux
·  DevOps for Azure cloud deployed applications
·  Backend development using Java/Spring
·  Jira and Confluence
·  Contract testing with Pact
