Project Manager - Internet of Things - Finland

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the collection of smart, sensor-enabled physical objects, and the networks, servers and services that interact with them.

We are looking for talented project managers to join the IoT team in building a device platform for powering the next wave of connected devices. We are collaborating with an expanding number of key technology partners and are in a great position to help the IoT industry flourish.

We are structured as a small start-up business unit inside ARM, and you will join a fast growing team of hard working professionals who all share a vision and passion for building a foundation for this emerging industry that will change the way connected devices are developed.

Job Purpose

The Project Manager works closely with Architects, Technical Lead and engineering team to manage multiple development and customer projects from conception through to final delivery in the area of IoT.

The roles will be based in Oulu with regular communication and occasional travel with other ARM sites and ARM partners.

Key responsibilities

·  Leading the overall project execution by organising, driving and managing product roadmap and customer commitments.
·  Building and maintaining the overall plans for a project.
·  Ensuring projects benefits are realised whilst project is delivered on time, and on spec.
·  Ensure the scope of work is clearly defined, and manage resource, quality, issues and risks.
·  Communicate project status and plans, manage dependencies and drive customer expectation setting.
·  Promote the team’s engineering culture and enable innovation and continuous improvement.
·  Support corporate and business assurance processes.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

·  The candidate should have a minimum 3 years of experience in Project Management using leading methodologies, processes and best practices.
·  Proven track record of delivering complex software/service projects, building real software/service products to real customers.
·  Proven ability to take ownership, lead, monitor and motivate engineering teams.
·  Experience of applying project management in a rapidly changing development environment.
·  Demonstrated ability in building plans from a high level to a detailed schedule.
·  Experience liaising with customers, partners and remote development teams.
·  Clear understanding of, and ability to apply the concepts of risk management
·  Able to manage stakeholders through personal leadership and clear project goals
·  Ability to communicate/understand highly skilled engineering teams, communicate with confidence hardware and software concepts.

Desirable Skills and Experience

·  Engineering / R&D / Start up background .
·  Understanding of e2e/Cloud services and software development lifecycle methods (e.g., waterfall, iterative, agile).
·  Experience or exposure to the IoT, e2e services and cloud space and technologies.
·  Experienced user of project tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira.
·  Comfortable with configuration methods, versioning and documentation tools.
·  Be passionate about the Project management discipline.
·  Be self-motivated, looking to accept new challenges.
·  Able to adapt to change and open minded.
·  Have a professional attitude; be able to confidently work with customer.
·  Be pro-active and pragmatic with regards to problem solving.
·  Be able to work to tight deadlines.
·  Be able to easily switch between assigned tasks.

Education & Qualifications

Good university degree or equivalent, in either Computer Science or Engineering, although other graduates would be considered if they have relevant Project Management experience.
