ARM’s Internet of Things team in Oulu is looking for Principal Database Administraton Engineer to Cloud Services Development to join us as we build the services and software needed to connect billions of new devices to the internet.

The ideal candidate will have experience of designing, operating and maintaining large scale databases for web services in high-profile projects where reliability and scalability are critically important. We work within a DevOps culture and you will become a go-to-person for other development teams regarding anything related to databases and datamodels.

Connecting all those devices in an Internet of Things is one of the most important trends in technology. Key Duties / responsibilities

·  Responsible for performance, integrity and security of databases
·  Day-to-day operation of databases
·  Key person to assist and guide development teams to archieve efficient database solutions
·  Always to be looking for new solutions

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

·  Expert level knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MariaDB
·  Good knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB
·  Good knowledge of cache solutions such as Redis
·  Practical experience running large scale databases in production
·  Experience operating databases in Cloud such as AWS, Azure, GCE or Softlayer
·  A great team oriented attitude with communication skills
·  Good spoken and written English required.

Desirable Skills and Experience

·  Troubleshooting skills of anything related to databases
·  Webservice experience
·  Monitoring and performance analysis
·  Experience working in international environment
